MAYDAY PARADE

ISLINGTON ACADEMY, LONDON
11.10.10
Words: Jenny Chu

AMONGST ALL THE DISTRACTIONS London brings, the Northern Line is where a band start to shine. Tourists go to see Big Ben but tonight The Maine stand monument to fans from all over Europe. Though they crossed the pond from Arizona they fit into the city and onto the stage hand in hand. The Maine is a band who once wrote pop songs such as Everything I Ask For and have the rare ability to pull off different music styles. They neither lack in stage performance nor audience interaction.

Shadowing them, Mayday Parade go into full swing with Walk On Water Or Drown before facing technical difficulties. The band turn the page with crowd favourites; When I Get Home, You’re So Dead and Jamie All Over.  Mayday Parade prove that not only are they sticking around but they’re climbing their way up to the top of the pop punk hierarchy.
